Measure around your hairline (where the hat is going to sit). My head measures 22 inches and I prefer the medium size.
Most of the population will be a size medium therefore all the hats are pictured are mediums.

Small 19 - 21 inches
from front brim over the top to the back is approx 11.5 inches for beanies

Medium 22 - 24 inches
from front brim over the top to the back is approx 13.5 inches for beanies

Large 25 - 27 inches
from front brim over the top to the back is approx 15.5 inches for beanies

Toddler 18 - 21 inches
from front brim over the top to the back is approx 11 inches for beanies

Infant (newborn) 16 - 19 inches
from front brim over the top to the back is approx 10inches for beanies

Anything Larger or Smaller can be done - I just consider it a custom hat - email me for more info.

SKI hats - add 2 extra inches to the overall length over the ears (measured ear over crown to ear)

FLAP HATS - the ear flaps stick down approximately 3.5 inches from the brim.

So you have a little more sizing info - the smaller measurement shown in each size is the actual unstretched diameter of the hat. They are nice and stretchy - it is a personal judgement call if you want your hat to fit snug or a little loose - or if you have extension dreads (or just Big Hair) and its not comfy for you to have those fitting snug against your head. My toddler has a large head for her age and fits into a medium. Email me if you need more help.

These fleece hats are probably the only item that doesn't get serged - why? I had a shaved head and I know chemo patients also appreciate soft edges. Serged edges are itchy - so I double stitch them (they don't fray) and leave them fluffy for extra comfort. The one hat that is serged is the Pink Paw hat- I can make them the other way - just let me know in the special instructions when you are ordering.
